Wall Street is on Record High, What are the stats saying?

As trade resumes following a three-day break, the New York Stock Exchange has opened at new highs (the markets were closed for Presidents Day on Monday).

As upbeat buyers continue to push shareholdings higher, the Dow Jones industrial average, the larger S&P 500, and the tech-focused Nasdaq indices all hit new heights.

Optimism is boosting confidence in the turnaround over Covid-19 vaccine rollouts, and the possibility of a $1.9trn US stimulus package.

The early moves are here:

Dow: 121 points up, or 0.4%, at 31,580 points

S&P 500: at 3,948 points, up 13 points or 0.35%

Nasdaq Composite: at 14,152 p p, up 57 points or 0.4 percent
