This word may also mean superb or amazing. 3. Senpai Senpai refers to a person who has authority over you. Typically, it is used in schools or workplaces. As far as anime is concerned, the main character has a senior friend, which is why this word is quite commonly used in the series. 4. Baka This word refers to the English word "stupid" or "idiot". Generally, this term is used playfully in the series to refer to someone not-so-intelligent. Generally, Baka is used when a character wants to poke fun at someone during the show. 5. Oniisan This word refers to an older brother. Today, anime shows feature several older brothers. Therefore, this word comes up many times in the series. In the show, this word is most commonly used when a little sister calls her older brother. 6. Daijōbu Daijōbu is a Japanese term for the English words good or okay. In English, we describe the same thing by saying, "It's going to be okay". As the name suggests, this word is commonly used when a corrector is trying to make another character cheer up. 7. Imōto The term Imōto refers to a younger sister. In anime, you will find this character, which is why this word is quite popular among the fans of anime. 8. Tomodachi Tomodachi is a Japanese word for a friend. Since anime series has a lot of friends in it, this term is quite commonly used in the series. 9. Ureshiii Ureshiii is a Japanese term for "glad" or "happy". Often, this word is said in the series when someone is delighted or relieved. In other words, this word is used when a character is of the opinion that somebody is mad at them. 10. Otaku Otaku refers to somebody who has an obsession with something. Generally, it refers to Manga or anime.
